"The Last Party" or "The Last Supper" (Italian: Il Cenacolo or L’Ultima Cena), is a very famous painting by artist Leonardo da Vinci. The work, composed between 1495 and 1498, depicts the chamber boy of the Monastery of Santa Maria in the city of Milano. In this period, we will learn about the events that the picture depicts, the expensive details in the paintings, as well as the music behind this famous painting. The Last Supper was the last moment when Jesus sat down to eat with his disciples before he was captured by the Roman authorities and crucified. To clearly understand the circumstances of this banquet, we need to put it in the context of Jesus' appearance.

At that time, in the situation that the Roman authorities together with the religious leaders took advantage of people's beliefs to make profits and do bad things, the appearance of Jesus shocked Judaism. He pointed out lies in religious life, pointed out that the place of prayer of repentance has turned into a place of profit, shows hypocrisy in politicians' way of thinking, etc.

Because of that, the authorities decided to arrest Jesus because he viewed him as a threat to their power. However, they only dared to do this at night to avoid outbursts of riots because Jesus was loved by the people. At the last party before his arrest, Jesus broke the bread, offered thanks, gave it to the disciples saying, "This is my body"; Then take a cup, give thanks, and give it to the disciples, saying, "Drink from it all; for this is my blood, the blood of the covenant poured out for many forgiven. ” Finally, he told his disciples, "Do this in remembrance of me." Jesus prophesied to his disciples that someone would sell him off ...

In his picture "The Last Supper", Leonardo da Vinci focused on describing each disciple's reaction to the prophecy of Jesus. Each disciple has a unique level of emotions. Due to the destruction of "The Last Supper" over time, we will be using a restoration work (1520) by Andrea Solari. Here, we will go from left to right of the picture, divided into four groups of three disciples each.

The second group: Peter, showing his uncontrollable anger, holding a knife in his hand, talks to John. This action manifests the events that followed, when Peter angrily attacked a Roman soldier with a knife when Jesus was about to be arrested. Judas expressed fear when hearing the prophecy, clutching a bag of money, probably the money Judas has received to betray God. He was the only one to put his elbow on the table, and his head was also positioned lowest compared to the others. The young disciple John appeared to be so shocked that he almost passed out.

Third group: Thomas looked very sad, and held up one finger, his face showing disbelief. That act also manifests the event that happened later, when Thomas doubted the resurrection of Jesus until he felt the power of God for himself. James looked so shocked he couldn't believe it, with his arms outstretched. Meanwhile, Philip seemed to be asking God for his explanation, to show his loyalty. Jesus Himself manifests the calmness and a hint of sadness, as if knowing Judas' sins, as well as what he is about to experience. He is placed in the middle of the picture, is the centerpiece of the painting, attracting from all angles through the artist's skillful layout.

In addition, in the picture we also see that Jesus' right hand is reaching for a bread, and his left hand is open on the table, also pointing to another bread. This is also mentioned in the Bible, because Jesus prophesied that the betrayer would take bread at the same time as him. He expressed the prophecy with his left hand, astonishing Thomas and especially James. At the same time, distracted by a conversation between Peter and John, Judas reached out for a bread, the same bread that Jesus' right hand was reaching. From there, Judas was the one who reacted to the prophecy of God.

As a famous masterpiece of the painter Leonardo da Vinci, "The Last Party" is also considered a hidden painting with many strange messages and suggestions inside. Due to the devastating time we can only see one incomplete restoration version of "The Last Supper". However, that also cannot alleviate the mystery of "The Last Party" when an Italian musician and computer specialist announced a new discovery that shows, in the picture, music is hidden ...

Giovanni Maria Pala, author of the discovery, said he began to study the picture of The Last Supper carefully since 2003. The first thing that caught his attention was the tablecloth with horizontal, vertical, and vertical lines. are slices of bread, which look like musical notes. Observing as a whole, Pala noticed that the 12 apostles of the Lord were arranged into four groups of three. This layout is reminiscent of 3/4 beat, which prevailed in the 15th century, when Da Vinci worked on the painting. In the end, Pala discovered that if one considers the hands of God and the apostles with the slices of bread as musical notes, then reads them from right to left like Leonardo Da Vinci's usual writing. get a real track.

However, if there were only indications of the notes, it was not enough to make a proper melody, until Pala discovered the key: the staff had to be read from right to left - in the correct way Leonardo Da Vinci. In his book, "La Musica Celata", Pala detailed his search for the melody behind the painting. Since then, he has produced a 40-second concert, with a solemn rhythm like the music used for prayers. This Italian musician said that the piece sounds best when played on the pipe, the popular instrument in church orchestras of Da Vinci's time.

Not only that, Pala also found that the position of "musical notes" in the picture, if linked together in lines, would create very strange symbols, like the wedge-shaped letters of Western Asian civilizations. ancient times. A well-known Rome-based biblical expert confirmed Pala's discovery, adding that these wedge-shaped characters form a sentence in ancient Hebrew meaning "glory and dedicate to him. ".
